WHAT IS KNEE PAIN?

Knee pain is a very common symptom that we see in our clinic. With just this complaint alone, there are well over a dozen potential conditions or injuries behind it. As the center joint of the leg, the knee takes a lot of force with each step whether you run or walk. Just standing around could even lead to knee pain. Patients struggling with a severe case of arthritis may have similar symptoms in other major joints that indicates more than just wear and tear.

How Can Stem Cell Therapy Help?

Knee Pain Symptoms:

  •  Tingling and numbness around the knee  or extending down to the knee
  •  Instability or buckling when weight is  placed on the joint
  •  Swelling
  •  Popping, snapping, or creaking noises

Knee Pain Risks:

Your daily routine may be putting you at risk for severe or chronic knee pain. These factors include:

  •  Obesity
  •  Smoking
  •  Higher Age
  •  Injuries due to work or athletic activity
  •  Stress and dissatisfaction with life
  •  Hard physical labor, especially involving  repetitive action

What a Difference!

“What a difference the treatment made in 4 weeks! Things that we used to enjoy, we can do again. Balance is better, can walk better – with more energy, vitality, spunk and enthusiasm. We both have so much more freedom and movement without joints hurting and the intense pain. It’s a new life!“

What is Stem Cell Therapy?

The goal for stem cell therapy is use healthy stem cells found in the body to replace activate your body’s own stem cells at an injured site. When you have damaged tissue, anywhere in your body, the damaged tissue lets of signals to attract your body’s own stem cells. Unfortunately, as you age, the number of stem cells in your body significantly decreases and the potency of those stem cells also significantly decrease, which can result in a dramatic decrease in your healing ability. Stem Cell Therapy introduces large amounts of stem cells to the injured tissue to substantially increase your body’s healing potential and ability. This injection of Stem Cells and various other growth factors is believed to activate your body’s own stem cells, which are lying dormant, to start healing the injured tissue. The stem cells may be harvested from the patient or from a donor. Once they have been safely extracted, they are reinjected back into the body to rebuild properly functioning tissues.

A stem cell is unique to any other cell in the body because of its ability to turn into most any type of cell in your body, divide, multiply and renew and regenerate. They don’t carry out specialized functions like brain, red, or white blood cells, but they are the most vital component in repairing and replacing damaged or torn tissue. They are the essential building blocks of life.

What are the different types of Stem Cells?

There are four types of stem cells that may be used in stem cell therapy. They differ as a result of their harvesting location (where they are found) as well as what functions and abilities they have. When harvesting Stem cells, there are many other healing substances in the mix as well including growth factors, growth hormones and cytokines to name a few.

The four stem cell types are:

  •  Amniotic Tissue allograph which contains Stem Cells and numerous growth factors
  • Adipose Tissue derived Stem Cells which contain stem cells and numerous growth factors
  • Bone Marrow derived Stem Cells which contain stem cells and numerous growth factors
  • Concentrated Cord Blood derived Stem Cells which contain stem cells and numerous other growth factors

Frequently Asked Questions from our patients

Below are some questions that we have received from our patients. If you don't see an answer to your question, please give us a call at 844-ME-AGAIN (632-4246).

When our tissue is damaged it gives off things called Cytokines. Cytokines act like little beacons to attract the stem cells to that tissue. In fact, we have heard of numerous instances when a patient has a Stem Cell procedure done and another area of their body also heals.

We work with people who are experiencing chronic pain on a daily basis and have treated thousands of patients. All of our treatment protocols are based on research that is proven to work. Stem Cell Centers also offers all 4 different types of stem cells so we can use the best one for your problem. We are not limited to just one type of Stem Cell like most other clinics. We are a network of some of the top doctors around the country, continuously sharing the knowledge we gain by treating many patients each day.

As long as the root cause of your problem is addressed your healing should be long term. Because stem cell therapy is still a fairly new treatment, research shows that results can last up to and beyond five years. There are many variables that determine how long the results of a stem cell injection will last for. Results will also vary from person to person and depend on a variety of factors including, diet, exercise, lifestyle choices, etc…

The great news is that our research shows that is never too late. Most chronic pain conditions slowly get worse over time, not better. For this reason, we encourage patients not to continue to suffer and come and have their problem treated to get them out of the suffering and pain. We have treated patients from 16 -102 years old and had the same great outcomes. Age does not seem to matter when it comes to stem cell therapy.

Healing can start as soon as you have had the treatment. It is not uncommon for patients to leave our office already feeling significantly better. The vast majority of healing happens within 6-9 months of the first treatment but research shows healing can continue for up to 2 years. On average our patients experience a 52% reduction in pain within the first two weeks of their treatment and continue to get better from there.

Cost depends on a patient’s specific problem, the number of joints/problems treated, the amount of stem cells needed and what type of stem cells are used. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover Stem Cell treatment at this time.

Call 1-844-ME AGAIN to get scheduled for a complimentary consultation for you and your spouse at the clinic closest to you. At this consultation you will learn all about how stem cell therapy works, what our results are and if your condition can be treated and we can accept you for care. We will also answer all of your questions at this consultation. If you are accepted for care, we can usually treat you on the same day.
